The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life,is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring, This covenant between baptized persons have been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1601)

Engaged Couple (or their family)
Engaged couples must be registered parishioners at least one year.  Six months notice and participation in a marriage program is required. The date can be set only when the engaged couple has met with one of the parish priests.

Couple's Responsibilities

• To belong to the parish community as an active participant
• To initiate the marriage preparation process 6-12 months prior to the anticipated wedding date
• To contact the parish before any other commitments are made regarding the wedding
• To use the time of engagement as a time for mutual discernment of readiness to make permanent and faithful commitment to one's partner and to God
