Bereavement Ministry

Bereavement Ministry
Because the Lord has called us into community, the death of one affects all; the sorrow of one affects all. In this ministry, the Bereavement Minister calls upon the family of the deceased, offering condolence and assistance in selecting readings and music for the funeral liturgy.  Other opportunities to participate in this ministry include passing out programs, reading, distributing Communion, and serving at funeral lunches.

Communion to the Homebound / Nursing Home visits
The Pastoral Ministry serves our parishioners who are homebound, and all Catholics living in our 6 parish retirement/nursing homes, by visiting and praying with them, and bringing Holy Communion to them. Many times our Eucharistic Distributors will take Communion to a loved one who is sick and cannot attend Mass.  We also have a group of parishioners who take communion to our parishioners living in the six retirement / nursing homes in the Dayton area.
